The hardest part of preparing for a role-play event is arranging it. You need a situation your student has genuinely not seen, an adult willing to stay in a role, and a rubric you both trust. This kit supplies all three, eight times.
Each round: ten minutes alone with a scenario card, five minutes to deliver one recommendation to an adult playing a manager or a shop owner, three minutes of questions, and a score out of twenty across four criteria. The judge's notes tell you what a strong response to that specific scenario contains — not a right answer, because there isn't one, but the reasoning that earns full marks and the two or three ways responses usually fall short.
The kit includes two pages written for this catalog specifically: how to play the judge when the judge is you, and what the format actually looks like at a kitchen table with one student, or at a co-op with four.
Being straight about fit: these events are usually run through school-based business organizations, and homeschool routes vary by state association — check before you count on competing. If your student is not competing, this is still eight rounds of deciding under time pressure and defending it to an adult.
